Warm Up Games

STORYLINE
Today we are playing Dead Cockroach. Your goal is to avoid being sprayed by the bug repellent (fuzzy ball).  

INSTRUCTIONS

• I will select one person to have the bug repellent.  
• Before the game begins, spread out onto the field.
• When I say, “GO!” the tagger will try and hit you with the bug repellent.
• If you are hit (shoulders and below), you must lay down on your back and put your hands and feet straight up into the air.
• The only way to become alive again is if four teammates tag each of your limbs (two legs, two arms).
• Once one teammate has tagged a limb, you can put it down.
• Only one teammate can tag one of your limbs at a time.
• We will begin a new round when I select a new tagger.  

TEACHING TIPS

• Approach:
  • Play on half of a field.  
  • Depending on class size, increase the number of taggers.
