STORYLINE
Today we are playing Bear Trap. Your goal as a bear is to avoid being trapped by the hunter (tagger).
INSTRUCTIONS
- I will select a hunter and a park ranger (un-tagger).
- Before the game begins, spread out into the field.
- When I say, “GO!” the hunter will try and capture (tag) you.
- Hunters may only use a two-finger butterfly tag.
- If you are captured, you must sit down and raise your hand.
- The only way to become free is for the park ranger to high-five you.
- We will begin a new round when a new hunter and park ranger are selected.
TEACHING TIPS
- Approach:
- Only allow the bears and hunters to play on half the field.
- Depending on class size, add more hunters or park rangers.
- Have the hunter and park ranger wear flags to tell who they are.
